Odoo Partner Levels and the KPIs Behind Them

We recently became a certified Odoo Partner. If you’ve been following our journey at Software Disruption, you already know we don’t just add service lines for the sake of it. We went through the official Odoo partnership process because we believe in the platform and we wanted our clients in the UAE and KSA to work with a team that Odoo itself has verified.

But here’s the thing when we started digging into the Odoo partner ecosystem, we realized most businesses (and even some partners) don’t fully understand how the tier system works. They see the badges. Ready. Silver. Gold. And they assume it’s about money or company size.

It’s not.

So we’re writing this to break it down for our clients and for anyone evaluating an Odoo partner right now.

How Odoo Organizes Its Partners

The Odoo Partner Program is a merit-based system. Unlike many software ecosystems where “partners” are just resellers, Odoo ties its partner tiers strictly to performance metrics. The ecosystem is split into two groups: Learning Partners who are still in training, and Official Partners who hold Ready, Silver, or Gold status.

Learning Partners don’t get listed on Odoo’s website, don’t receive leads, and don’t get a dedicated account manager. They’re still building their skills.

Official Partners are the ones listed on odoo.com with access to the Enterprise source code, the ability to escalate issues directly to Odoo, and a dedicated Account Manager.

The Three Official Levels

We went through the process to become an Official Partner. That matters to us and it should matter to you. You can read more about why we chose to become an Odoo Partner here.

Ready Partner

This is where we are right now. And we’re not going to pretend otherwise.

A Ready Partner has finished learning and is actively working on real projects. These are usually smaller agencies or newer teams in the Odoo world.

The requirements:

Minimum 10 new Enterprise users sold per year. At least 1 certified employee. No retention rate requirement at this stage.

Commission is 10% on Enterprise licenses.

For our clients across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Jeddah being a Ready Partner means we’ve been officially vetted by Odoo. We’re certified, we follow their methodology, and we have

direct access to their support channels. That’s a real advantage when you’re going through an ERP implementation and something doesn’t go as planned. It’s the same client-first approach we bring to every project we take on.

Silver Partner

This is the next milestone we’re working toward.

Silver partners need 75 net new Enterprise users per year, at least 3 certified employees, and a 70% or higher client retention rate.

Commission goes up to 15%.

Silver partners have handled enough projects to know how to deal with complex workflows. They carry enough staff that a single person leaving won’t stall your project.

We’re building toward this. Every implementation we do right now, every certification our team earns, and every client we retain pushes us closer.

Gold Partner

Gold is the top tier. These are usually the big agencies or system integrators that handle data migrations, multinational rollouts, and heavy custom development.

Gold requires 300 new Enterprise users per year, 6 certified staff, and 80% client retention.

Gold Partners earn 20% commission and get direct access to Odoo HQ management with priority support.

As of early 2026, there are only 284 Gold partners and 691 Silver partners across the entire world. Getting there takes years of consistent delivery.

The 3 KPIs That Control Everything

This is the part most people don’t know about. Odoo ranks its partners on three things: new Enterprise users sold in the last 12 months, number of certified employees on the three latest Odoo versions, and customer retention.

No politics. No favoritism. Just numbers.

New Enterprise Users Sold

This counts new customers, upsells, and downsells but renewals don’t count.

So you can’t just sign a bunch of clients once and coast on renewal revenue. You have to keep selling, keep deploying, keep doing new work.

Ready needs 10. Silver needs 75. Gold needs 300.

A Gold partner selling 300+ users a year is constantly deploying fresh databases. They’re building in the current version, not sitting on old knowledge.

For us at Software Disruption, this KPI keeps us honest. We can’t grow in the Odoo ecosystem without doing real implementations. And that’s how it should be.

Certified Staff

Odoo certifications are hard. They test deep knowledge across all core apps Accounting, Manufacturing, Inventory, and more.

The exam covers 16+ core apps, has around 120 questions, requires a 70% score to pass, and penalizes wrong answers.

Certifications must be on the three most recent Odoo versions. You can’t pass once and forget about it.

Certifications are personal. When a certified person leaves a company, the partner has to notify Odoo.

We take this seriously. Our team goes through the certification process because we want the people working on your Odoo system to actually know what they’re doing not guess their way through it.

Customer Retention Rate

This is the KPI that separates real partners from the ones just chasing sales.

Odoo calculates retention by dividing the number of Enterprise customers acquired in the last 3 years that are still active by the total acquired in that same period.

Ready has no minimum. Silver needs 70%. Gold needs 80%.

If a partner does bad implementations, clients leave. The retention requirement is a direct quality control measure enforced by Odoo.

This is also why we focus so heavily on training and adoption at Software Disruption. A good implementation means nothing if the team using it can’t figure it out and stops paying for the license six months later. We build structured adoption plans because retention starts on day one not when the renewal email goes out. It’s the same thinking we apply across all our digital transformation work.

These Numbers Get Checked Every Quarter

Odoo reviews partner levels every quarter and adjusts them to the highest tier where all three requirements are met.

If numbers drop, the tier drops.

Nobody’s status is guaranteed. A Gold partner that gets lazy can slide back. A Ready partner that hustles can move up. The system rewards consistency, not history.

Why We're Telling You All This

We could have written a blog post that just said “we’re an Odoo Partner, trust us.” But that’s not how we work.

We want you to understand the system. Because when you understand how Odoo evaluates its partners, you can make a better decision about who to work with whether that’s us or someone else.

Here’s what we’d tell any business evaluating an Odoo partner right now:

Check their tier on the official Odoo partner directory. Look at how many certified people they have. Ask about their retention rate. These rankings tell you a partner’s size and experience, but even Gold partners might not be the right fit for every project.

A smaller partner who knows your industry, understands your local compliance needs (UAE VAT, KSA e-invoicing, multi-currency setups, Arabic-English configurations), and picks up the phone when things break that partner might deliver more value than a big name in another country. We’ve written about this same reality in the software consulting space across the Middle East knowing the region matters more than knowing the brochure.

That’s the space we’re building in. We know the UAE market. We know the KSA market. We do this work every day across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, and Jeddah. And we’re growing our Odoo practice the right way by earning every client, every certification, and every tier. Don’t take our word for it here from the businesses we’ve already worked with.

Where We're Headed

We’re a Ready Partner today. We won’t be a Ready Partner forever.

Every Odoo implementation we deliver, every team member we certify, and every client who stays with us moves us closer to Silver and eventually Gold. That’s the roadmap. And now you know exactly what the numbers behind that roadmap look like.

If you’re thinking about Odoo for your business or if you’ve already started looking at partners talk to us. We’ll give you a straight answer on what Odoo can and can’t do for you.

That’s how we work.
